“7th win for CSK and 7th straight win against DC at Chepauk” – Twitter reacts after CSK thump DC by 27 runs

Chennai Super Kings have been one of the top teams in the sixteenth edition of the Indian Premier League. Their performances were there for everyone to see this season.

MS Dhoni and Co have operated very well as a team and yielded positive results more often than not. Before taking on Delhi Capitals, CSK were tasked to win at least two of the three games.

However, they have taken a step forward by beating Delhi Capitals in the home game at Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. CSK have two more games in hand and a victory in one of these games will ensure them an entry into the playoffs.

Chennai Super Kings defeat Delhi Capitals at home

Talking about the game between CSK and DC, CSK captain MS Dhoni won the toss and chose to bat first. The yellow army didn’t look quite comfortable with the bat as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals.

Despite losing spark at times, they performed well in fragments during the passage of play. As it turned out, plenty of CSK batters did put up small scores, which eventually contributed to the team’s scoreboard.

CSK ended up at 167/8 in their quota of 20 overs with the help of Shivam Dube’s 25 off 12, MS Dhoni’s 20 off 9. On the contrary, Mitchell Marsh registered 3/18 in 3 overs and was the best bowler for Delhi Capitals.

Needless to say, Delhi Capitals missed out on the trick of ticking the flow of runs in the run-chase. They lost key players namely David Warner (0), Mitchell Marsh (5) for cheap scores which triggered a batting collapse.
