4 Teams Who Would Change Their Core Group In IPL 2023

In the season of IPL 2023, as many as four franchises will opt to change their core group due to their worst playing in recent editions. The Core group of any team is the element that actually decides the losing and winning of a team in a particular tournament. In the 15 years of history of the Indian Premier League, Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings had the best core group which automatically crafted their chances of vectorizing. For Mumbai (Rohit Sharma, Kieron Pollard, Jasprit Burmah, and Suryakumar Yadav) are the Fab four players, which almost increases their chances of being leading in every edition of IPL.

The Chennai Super Kings have also managed a beautiful nucleus of players for them (MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina (Till 2021), Dwayne Bravo, and Ravindra Jadeja) are the aces which amplified their chances of thriving in each IPL season. In the latest mega auction of IPL 2022, many teams have focused on building their core group as strong as possible which would help them in the future to delineate their prospects. Thus below are a few teams who would change it in IPL 2023.

1. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

Sunrisers Hyderabad has the most unstable journey of IPL 2022 in this season they have lost the first two games horribly and after that, they have picked up the most consistent winning pattern by vectorizing 5 games in a row. But later their consistent defeats have pushed them out of the tournament which describes the instability they have in their core group. Thus there is a high chance that this team will go into the mega buckle mode in the auction next year.

2. Delhi Capitals (DC).

The Rishabh pant leading Delhi Capitals has the most amplifying chances to qualify for the play-offs of the season but due to the immaturity of the leadership and the underperformance of core group players the team didn’t get to it. The base of Delhi Capitals consisted of Skipper Rishabh Pant, veteran pacer Anrich Nortje, the Southpaw spinner Axar Patel and the Aussie opener David Warner. But they will definitely look to make a shuffle or completely change it in IPL 2023.

3. Punjab Kings (PBKS).

Punjab Kings also had a serious problem in the nucleus of the batting and bowling unit. In the initial 30 games of the league phase, Punjab was in the first four positions on the IPL points table. But later due to frequent chopping and changing in the batting department Punjab lost track and fell down to the 7 position after the completion of the whole tournament. So, it automatically becomes mandatory for the team management to introspect seriously regarding the problem of the core group and to make an alteration if possible.

4. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

Kolkata Knight Riders are among the franchises who actually rule the game of Indian Premier League in their early couple of seasons but as the tournament has moved forward the team is getting weaker and weaker due to its underperformed core bunch. The two Caribbeans, Andre Russell, and Sunil Narine along with Shreyas Iyer and Pat Cummins form the nucleus of the team. But except for the Caribbeans, the other two were completely out of form in this season of IPL 2020. So that’s why the team management will discuss the issue and will try to sort it out in their own way.
