3 biggest wins in terms of runs in the history of T20Is

A T20I fixture is always entertaining, even if it’s a low-scoring fixture because of the drama that transpires in the clutch moments. When it is an evenly-fought contest, it can be anyone’s game.

At times, the cricket fraternity has also witnessed one-sided fixtures as well. This happens when one of the teams posts a humongous total on the board upon batting first. When the chasing team loses the plot, chances are high that they lose wickets like a pack of cards.

In the process, the team gets bowled out for a paltry total. Registering the biggest win against the opponent in T20Is is quite an achievement. In this article, we will take a glimpse at the three biggest-ever wins in terms of runs in the history of the Twenty20 Internationals.

1. Sri Lanka – 172 runs against Kenya

During the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2007 tournament, the Sri Lankan cricket team registered the biggest-ever win in the history of T20Is. The Sri Lankans achieved the feat against Kenya in the group stage as they won the game by a massive margin of 172 runs, a record which still remains intact. Sri Lanka scored 260 runs against Kenya. They went on to bundle out Kenya for just 88 runs.

2. India – 168 runs against New Zealand

Team India got the better of the New Zealand cricket team in the third T20I at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on February 1, Wednesday. Hardik Pandya and Co posted 234/4 in their quota of 20 overs in the series decider. In response, New Zealand were skittled out for a mere 66 runs. India won the game by 168 runs.

3. Pakistan – 155 runs against Hong Kong

Pakistan national cricket team registered the third-biggest win in T20Is. They managed to achieve the feat against the Hong Kong cricket team in Asia Cup 2022 tournament.
