He made 31 runs from 20 deliveries and was influential in India getting a quick start. On route to his impact cameo, Rohit took a few records under his name. First Indian to score 300 fours in T20I cricket

Before the match started, both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were struck on 298 fours in T20I cricket. Hence, it was an interesting race between the duo to hit the 300 mark. While Virat could not add to his count, Rohit has raced past India’s No.3.

Even before Virat arrived at the crease, Rohit got to the coveted number. In his knock today, Rohit scored three boundaries and hence, became the first Indian to score 300 boundaries in T20I cricket. It needs to be noted that Rohit is also the leader for India when it comes to the most number of sixes hit in T20Is. So far, the Mumbai cricketer has scored 157 sixes.

Highest-capped T20I cricketer

For a while now, Rohit Sharma had been the most capped men’s player in T20Is. The Indian skipper had overtaken Pakistan‘s Shoaib Malik a few months ago. However, Rohit has now gone a step further by becoming the cricketer to have played most T20Is, considering both the men’s and women’s versions of the format. Hence, this is one of the records which Rohit Sharma broke in the second T20I against England.

Earlier, Australian cricketer Ellyse Perry was at the top of the list with 126 T20I encounters. Of course, this race will continue, but for the moment, Rohit will be at the top of the chart. Having played the most T20Is, Rohit is also the highest run-getter in the format. He has made 3368 runs till now. Virat Kohli has played 98 games and is second on the list amongst players from India.
