India and Australia are currently locking horns in the four-match series. Thanks to the brilliance of Indian batters and bowlers, the first game was done and dusted in just three days. The hosts produced a sensational effort and handed the visitors massive innings and 132 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the series.

2 Changes Australia might do for the second Test against India

It was a complete thrashing for Australia in Nagpur. They didn’t get going in any of the departments as they batted, bowled poorly and even dropped catches in the field. However, with Test ending in just three days, they now will have 2 extra days to rejuvenate themselves and come back strongly. The focus now will be on the second game that will be played in Delhi from 17th February to 21st February. As the game is 6 days away, let’s take a look at the 2 Changes Australia might do for the second Test against India.

Travis Head

Australia did a blunder by leaving out Travis Head in the first game. They gave a nod ahead to Matt Renshaw, who had a disastrous outing in the first game as he bagged a duck in the first innings and scored just 2 runs in the second innings. Head on the other hand has been among the best batter for Australia in Test cricket of late as he has been consistently scoring truckloads of runs in the middle order. It’s fair to say that in the last 12 months, he has many times bailed Australia out of trouble. He’s currently the No.4 ranked Test batter and also has been handy with the ball for Australia. With him having an attacking mindset, he will likely be back for the second game.

Cameron Green

Cameron Green is another player who might be in line to play the second Test for Australia. The all-rounder is likely to replace Peter Handscomb in the first game. The visitors went with only four frontline bowlers in the first game and clearly missed the fifth bowler. With Green likely to be fit for the second game, he is expected to walk straight to the team and play a crucial role for Australia in the upcoming game. Handscomb also had a poor outing in the first game as he managed just 36 runs in the game. Green has been a dominant force for Australia as in 18 games he has scored 806 runs with 6 fifties and 23 wickets.
