Zimbabwe national cricket team stunned the Pakistan national cricket team in the 24th game of the Super 12 of the ICC Men’s Twenty20 World Cup 2022 tournament at Perth Stadium in Perth.

Zimbabwe captain Craig Ervine won the toss and chose to bat first. They posted a modest total of 130/8 in their quota of 20 overs. Sean Williams was the pick of the batters for Zimbabwe as he showed resistance by scoring 31 off 28 balls including 3 fours.

On the other hand, Mohammad Wasim Jr and Shadab Khan took 4 and 3 wickets respectively. In reply to Zimbabwe’s target, Pakistan crumbled in the run-chase as they lost wickets like a pack of cards.

Pakistan were on the cusp of victory after building confidence from Mohammad Nawaz and Mohammad Wasim Jr. As it turned out, Zimbabwe stunned Pakistan by clinching a 1-run thriller.

Zimbabwe won in the Bean rivalry

In case you are wondering who this Bean is and why Zimbabwe won in the Bean rivalry, let’s take a glimpse at it. ‘Pak Bean,’ an infamous Pakistani comedian identified as Mohammad Asif comes from Karachi’s Kharadar neighbourhood.

One of the fans had claimed that Pakistan purposely sent a parody Mr. Bean to a local event in Zimbabwe. The fan warned Pakistan by saying that Zimbabwe will sail through during the Super 12 match.

Moreover, he went on to accuse fake Mr. Bean of looting people’s money during his trip to the African nation. Since then, images of Rowan Atkinson’s look-alike went viral in no time across social media portals.

Meanwhile, social media users chipped in with savage remarks to such posts. Zimbabwean fans called for revenge against the Pakistan Cricket Team for allegedly sending fake Mr. Bean to a local event.

Fortunately, everything ended in favour of Zimbabwe as they beat Pakistan by a whisker of 1 run.
