As Rajasthan Royals will be walking into their fourth fixture in IPL 2021 in pursuit of their second victory of the ongoing cricketing extravaganza, they will be up against the likes of the undefeated Royal Challengers Bangalore. All eyes will be on Shreyas Gopal as he has a great record against RCB. Wankhede will be greeting the two teams with arms wide open for a tale of contrasts.
However, before things settle down in a calm and cozy manner to work out the grave calculations of cricket, Shreyas Gopal, who has so far had an ordinary IPL, was busy showcasing his other extraordinary talent of mimicking India’s prime express bowler, Jasprit Bumrah.
In an Instagram video that Rajasthan Royals shared Shreyas Gopal mimicked the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Harbhajan Singh and Ravichandran Ashwin.
Shreyas Gopal enjoys his time in the practice session
It started with the run-up of Jasprit Bumrah and after a short follow-through, he manages to release those belters. Then the focus shifted to Ravichandran Ashwin and it was a picture-perfect emulation of India’s ace off-spinner.
The last man to be in queue of being copied for his incredulous action was Harbhajan Singh as Gopal did it with perfection. I won’t lie but when I was a child, even I would love to mimic the likes of Zaheer Khan, Harbhajan Singh, Glenn McGrath and Brett Lee.
These are the upshots of a burning desire that we who love the sport have in our hearts. Those replications are the amplification of the love and respect that we have for our favourite bowlers.
Despite the fact that Shreyas is still to find a footing in the ongoing edition of the fray, we expect that time will be of utmnost essence for this young man to reinstate himself in the Rajasthan colours.
Shreyas Gopal will be in action tonight when the Rajasthan Royals take on the Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2021. Gopal has an excellent record versus the RCB franchise.
