With Josh Hazlewood in doubts for his possible role at RCB, considering his nagging Achilles Tendon injury, the Challengers may have to start looking into the market for a possible option who can get the required wheels in place, particularly with the gigantic boots that was being filled by the Bendemeer Bullet, at the start of the innings followed by a sumptuous end.
Now with a very few fast bowlers left on the shelf, RCB will have to find a way out of the misery of losing Hazlewood if he is unable to get himself fit in time. Looking at the available options on the shelf, there are a few options that can actually come close to the big man of Australia. Here are the two possible options that RCB may opt for if Hazlewood pulls out of the tournament.
#1 Lance Morris
The Wild Thing they refer to as Lance Morris in Australia is known for his brutal pace, clocking almost similar speeds to that of Shaun Tait. He also has knack for those old-school beauties that come forth in yorkers and bouncers and again if you are unfortunate, may even cop a few onto your rib as a batter. Hazlewood was used in the Powerplay and the death overs, a bill that can be perfectly slotted by Lance if he chooses to come on.
#2 Wayne Parnell
The South African all-rounder has always been a menace for the batters and his return to the South African cricket team makes him an absolute favourite to make a cut for the IPL as well. He can generate some decent swing and bounce and at the same time can slot in with some disciplined bowling that is the strength of the towering Aussie quick. He can also bat by a good deal that would help RCB’s cause if he comes in place of an injured Josh Hazlewood. Again, all of these are all applicable only when Josh Hazlewood decides to pull out of the tournament.
