“That’s the disadvantage of making good pitch in India” – Twitter reacts as the 2nd session of the first day of the fourth test was the first time that there was no fall of a wicket in a single session in this BGT series

The first three Tests of the Border Gavaskar Trophy series between India and Australia saw the spinners dictating the terms in all aspects of the game. The majority of the wickets fell to spinners, which goes to show how spinners dominated the BGT series so far.

On the other hand, there were talks that the pitches didn’t offer a balance between pace and spin. In fact, the first three games of the BGT series ended within three days.

Team India won the first two Tests and took a 2-0 lead in the BGT series and also retained the Border Gavaskar Trophy for a record fourth time. India won the Test opener by an innings and 132 runs in Nagpur.

Rohit Sharma and Co approached the second Test with the same winning template as they won the game by six wickets in Delhi. On the other hand, Australia made a fantastic comeback in the third Test as they won the game by nine wickets in Indore.

Bowlers fail to keep batters in check in a single session in this BGT series

The fourth Test between India and Australia is currently being held at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Plenty of fans turned up in numbers to witness the final Test match.

Australia’s interim Test captain Steve Smith won the toss and chose to bat first. Travis Head and Usman Khawaja added 61 runs for the first wicket before Ravi Ashwin dismissed Head for 32 runs.

During the second ball of the 23rd over, Mohammed Shami made a mess of Marnus Labuschagne’s stumps as he departed for three runs. After the fall of the first two wickets, the likes of Usman Khawaja and Steve Smith dominated the proceedings as they played the game ever so well.

The left and right-hand combination caused a bit of trouble for the Indian bowlers. The hosts failed to take even a single wicket in the second session and it was also the first time in this BGT series that there was no fall of a wicket in a single session.

Right from lunch till the stroke of tea, Smith and Khawaja added 79 runs for the third wicket before Jadeja dismissed Steve Smith after Tea.
