The 2023 World Cup is all set to happen in October-November in India. Earlier today, the BCCI organized a special review meeting, where they prepared a list of 20 players, who will reportedly play in the ODI matches on the road to the mega event.
Last year, when the T20 World Cup and Asia Cup were scheduled to take place, a majority of the Indian players never played together in the same playing XI either due to injuries or breaks. However, the same will not repeat in 2023.
Cricbuzz reported that the 20 players will play in the ODI matches on a rotational basis, and the final 15 will make it to the 2023 World Cup squad. It will be exciting to see how the players perform, but fans should note that the list of 20 players is yet to be released. Regarding the IPL workload, the source reported:
“Among the decisions taken, BCCI said that the National Cricket Academy (NCA) will “work in tandem with the IPL Franchisee to monitor the targeted Indian players participating in the IPL 2023″, emphasizing the unit as the nodal centre for the fitness of Indian players.”
Fans on Twitter come up with suggestions for BCCI and Team India before 2023 World Cup
The year 2023 will be full of ODI cricket for the Indian team as they are scheduled to play the highest number of ODI matches in the year 2023. India will start the year with three ODIs and three T20Is against the Sri Lankan cricket team, followed by three ODIs and three T20Is against the New Zealand cricket team.
The Indian team will also play ODIs against the Australian cricket team. The rest of the schedule is not known at the moment, but it should not be a surprise if the Indian team also plays ODI series against the likes of England and West Indies. Here are some of the top Twitter reactions:
India will be playing most number of ODI matches than any other team in 2023.
