Kuldeep Yadav was once considered one of the top spin bowlers in white-ball cricket. However, his form dipped around 2020, and subsequently, he struggled to find a place in the Indian cricket team as well as in the playing XI of his IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders. His fitness issues did not help him as well.
However, Kuldeep Yadav has regained his lost touch now as he had a memorable season while playing for the Delhi Capitals in the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League. Yadav played an integral role in DC’s success and earned his place back in the Indian team.
Unfortunately, just before the start of the series against the South African cricket team, Kuldeep Yadav picked up an injury, which ruled him out of the entire series.
Yadav needs to prove himself in the Indian colors if he wants to be on the plane to Australia later this year. Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar believes Yadav should be a part of that 15-man squad. Here’s what he had to say on Sports 18:
“Chahal will be tested on those pitches in Australia, the pitches won’t be the kind that Chahal relishes and that’s why I believe Kuldeep Yadav has got to be a part of the squad. There will be a bounce for his kind of a bowler.”
