Fans on Twitter praised young Indian batter, Prithvi Shaw, for smashing a fiery century for Mumbai in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2022 against Assam. They lashed out at the BCCI selectors for wasting such talent and raised calls to include him in the Indian team.

Mumbai skipper Prithvi Shaw has set the stage on fire in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2022. The young opener has been taking his team off the flyer and has been scoring runs quickly at the top of the order.

In the game against Assam on Friday (14th October), Shaw took his game to another level as he was unfazed by the wickets at the other end. He continued his carnage on the bowlers and smashed them all over the park to bring his half-century in just 19 balls.

However, if this was not enough he continued batting in a similar fashion and then hammered a 46-ball century. Shaw ended with a score of 134 runs in just 61 balls. His innings were laced with 13 fours and 9 sixes as he played with a whopping strike rate of 219.67.

Shaw’s dominating innings of 134 helped Mumbai post a mammoth total of 230/7. Notably, this was his first century in the format and he celebrated animatedly.

Prithvi Shaw has been on the sidelines of the Indian team. Despite scoring runs in the IPL and domestic circuit, he has failed to make a cut into the national side.
