Twitter Roasts Rishabh Pant As He Played An Irresponsible Shot Against England In The Fourth Test

Rishabh Pant's woes continue

Pant failing to hammer again: India continued with their batting wobble as England fast bowlers once again humbled the reckoning Indian batters, thanks to some fiery bowling from Chris Woakes and Ollie Robinson.

Woakes was the pick of the slew as he managed to claim three wickets while Robinson scalped a brace that included the all-important wicket of Virat Kohli.

However, alongside the incessant fiascos of the Indian middle-order, if one name has repeatedly failed to perform against England, that is none other than India’s highest run-scorer in 2021, Rishabh Pant.

More importantly, he has got out to rash shots that were absolutely uncalled for. He displayed exemplary brilliance in the series against Australia and England at home but ever since his graph has taken a downward spiral.

Rishabh Pant’s downward spiral since Australia

In the WTC final, Pant managed to rack up scores of 4 and 41. The second innings needed more perseverance from him but a rash drive saw him being bundled and that also flagged the end of Indian hopes.

In the following series against England, he couldn’t deliver anything other than a couple of middling knocks that really didn’t have an impact on the fabric of the games.

He was batting alongside Shardul Thakur when once again his innings came unglued. With his team desperately needing him to remain in the middle, he wanted to attack the English bowlers.

He came down the track trying to smack Chris Woakes into the stands but didn’t have a single clue of what was the delivery about. He completely lost track of it and ended up nicking to Moeen Ali.

Twitter was absolutely furious with the dismissal of Rishabh Pant as they believe that the southpaw has been excessively brash and it is extremely feckless from someone on whom India relies so desperately. One of the primary reasons why he is on the team is because of his batting. Going by the wicket-keeping standards Saha has better numbers and stature.
