“We don’t need three spinners” – Michael Kasprowicz urges Australia to go with pace attack for Indore Test

The Australian national cricket team have already suffered enough on Indian soil as they are yet to open their account in the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy series against the Indian cricket team.

The visitors lost the Test opener by an innings and 132 runs at VCA Stadium in Nagpur before going on to lose the second Test by six wickets at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

With an emphatic win in Delhi, India retained the Border Gavaskar Trophy for a record fourth-straight time. The hosts are just a win away from sealing the series and if they can produce one more win, they would secure a spot in the ICC World Test Championship final.

Michael Kasprowicz urges Australia to go with a pace attack

While the Australian spinners did cause some damage to India’s batting unit, the Indian batters could still find a way to come out on top much to Australia’s annoyance in the first two games of the BGT series.

Meanwhile, former Australian fast bowler Michael Kasprowicz urged his team to go with a pace attack in the form of Mitchell Starc, Cameron Green and Scott Boland for the third Test against Team India.

The third Test begins tomorrow at Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore. Michael Kasprowicz wants Australia to play to their strengths in the upcoming Test match. In fact, Australia had one pace bowler in the team when they played the second Test in Delhi.

Pat Cummins was the solitary fast bowler whereas the rest of the three were specialist spinners. Despite heading into the Delhi Test with the majority of the spinners on a rank-turner, Australia went on to lose the game.

While speaking to SEN Radio, the former paceman, Michael Kasprowicz said the team doesn’t want three spinners (Todd Murphy, Matthew Kunhemann, Nathan Lyon) but instead wants Australia to dominate the proceedings with the quality pace attack that they have at their disposal.
