Fan Asks Ravichandran Ashwin To Mankad Jos Buttler In Practice Match; Ashwin Responds

The IPL 2022 Mega Auction began yesterday with a set of marquee players. Ravichandran Ashwin was one of the names on the list, and the Rajasthan Royals secured his services with a bid of INR 5 crore. Ashwin has never played for the Royals before. In the past, he has played for the Delhi Capitals, the Punjab Kings, the Rising Pune Supergiant and the Chennai Super Kings.

For the first time in his IPL career, Ashwin will share the dressing room with England’s wicket-keeper batter Jos Buttler. The Rajasthan Royals had retained Buttler as one their three retentions before the mega auction. Many members of the cricket universe would remember that during an IPL game between the Rajasthan Royals and the Punjab Kings, Ashwin ran out Buttler at the non-striker’s end.

It was a huge controversy at that time as cricket experts from across the world gave their views on that dismissal. Ashwin and Buttler also had an argument. However, it seems they are ready for a new start now. Yesterday, in a video posted on the Rajasthan Royals page, Ashwin was quoted as saying:

“Looking forward to bowling alongside Yuzi. It’s going to be a lot of fun and most importantly, looking forward to sharing the dressing room with Jos, how good is that going to be? All things done, Halla Bol!”

“Nets?”- Ravichandran Ashwin asked a hilarious question to a Twitter user

A Twitter user urged Ashwin to mankad Jos Buttler whenever the Rajasthan Royals have intra-squad matches ahead of the season. Ashwin took note of the question and asked him whether he should do it in the practice nets session also.

It will be exciting to see how the Rajasthan Royals perform in IPL 2022. They have stacked up their squad with some big names like Devdutt Padikkal, Prasidh Krishna, Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal and Trent Boult.
