Sourav Ganguly to attend 2nd Test and fans just can’t keep calm

Virat Kohli and his team on Monday were off to London for the second Test match against England at Lord’s after every member of the Indian contingent tested negative for RT-PCR. However, Prithvi Shaw and Suryakumar Yadav, who were called in as the replacement players, won’t be available for the 2nd Test match and will remain in 10-day quarantine in Nottingham.

Prithvi Shaw and Suryakumar joined the Indian squad in Nottingham on August 3. As per the sources, they will start training from August 14th and will be available for selection from the 3rd Test match, which will kickstart from August 25 at Leeds. The nine-day gap between both the matches will give an ample amount of time to both the cricketers to prepare themselves, in case team management feels the need of playing either of the two.

Apart from this, BCCI’s president Sourav Ganguly will also attend the 2nd Test match. As per reports, the United Kingdom is moving Indian travellers from red to amber list, which means that any person who is fully vaccinated as per UK health authorities protocol doesn’t need to serve the mandatory 10-day hard quarantine period.

Now with some of the protocols being relaxed, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly is set to leave to London on Tuesday to watch the second Test match. It is also expected that secretary Jay Shah, vice-president Rajiv Shukla, treasurer Arun Dhumal will also join Ganguly to watch the Indian team play.

For any of the office bearers, it was very difficult with 10-day hard quarantine in place as everyone’s busy schedule goes for a toss. Since some of the travel protocols have been relaxed, especially the quarantine, our office bearers if they want can now attend,” a BCCI source was quoted.
