‘Solid start with the ball for Umran Malik on his ODI debut’ – Twitter reacts as Umran Malik makes his ODI debut for India

India’s young fast bowling sensation Umran Malik made the headlines today after he made his ODI debut against New Zealand cricket team in the first of the three-match ODI series.

The game is currently being held at Eden Park in Auckland. New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson won the toss and invited Shikhar Dhawan-led Indian cricket team to bat first.

Shikhar Dhawan and Shubman Gill got off to a superb start to the game by adding 124-run stand for the opening wicket before Shubman Gill departed for 50. Shreyas Iyer top-scored with 80 whereas Shikhar Dhawan scored 72.

Washington Sundar scored a quickfire 37 off 16 balls including 3 fours and 3 sixes. In the end, India posted a commendable total of 306 for the loss of seven wickets in their quota of 50 overs.

Umran Malik makes his ODI debut for India

Young pacer Umran Malik made an instant impression with the ball on his debut. In his first two overs, he conceded only 9 runs and terrorized the opposition with his swift pace.

In the process, he went on to clock at 153.1KPH on his debut game and impressed the fans with his raw pace. He got rid of Devon Conway (24) to get his maiden wicket in One-Day Internationals.

The youngster went on to take his second wicket by getting rid of the prized wicket of Daryl Mitchell for 11 runs. Overall, he has well and truly impressed the fans with his bowling performance and it’s just a beginning.
