Sheldon Jackson’s deleted tweet goes viral after BCCI ignores him for SL tour

The BCCI declared a 20-man Indian squad for the Sri Lankan tour last night on Twitter. There were several new faces in the squad, but Sheldon Jackson did not gain a place in the squad.

In case you didn’t know, Sheldon Jackson has been a part of the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Royal Challengers Bangalore teams in the Indian Premier League. He has not received many opportunities to showcase his talent in the league, but he has done exceptionally well in the domestic arena.

First, Sheldon used to play for the Saurashtra cricket team, but now he is a member of the Pondicherry team. In the 2020/21 Vijay Hazare Trophy, Jackson scored a brilliant century against Himachal Pradesh. He also played a knock of 55 runs versus Rajasthan.

Overall, Jackson has amassed more than 8,000 runs in domestic cricket. Still, the BCCI did not consider him for selection while picking the squad for the Sri Lanka tour. Sheldon Jackson posted an emoji on Twitter after the squad announcement. It was a heartbreaking emoji.

The tweet was going viral on social media. Soon after, Sheldon deleted it. Here is the screenshot of that tweet.

Sheldon Jackson misses out, but Padikkal and Gaikwad receive maiden call-ups
