“So Sam Curran it is. Or Ben Stokes”, Twitter split as Chennai Super Kings releases Dwayne Bravo

Four-time IPL champions, Chennai Super Kings have finally decided to call it a day for Dwayne Bravo in their ranks. It was an incredible association between the Caribbean all-rounder and the Yellow Army that finally met its end ahead of the IPL’s retention day.

Bravo was brought back to the Chennai-based outfit during the mega-auction ahead of the 2022 season after some terrific bidding that stayed witness to Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad showing interest in the former Caribbean all-rounder.

Here is what Twitter had to say about Dwayne Bravo

It was eventually Chennai who secured the bid for INR 4.4 crore. Bravo played 10 games for CSK during last season and claimed a staggering 16 wickets as the four-time IPL winners would eventually finish in the ninth spot of the points table.

Bravo has crafted an impeccable legacy for himself in the IPL playing 161 matches and claiming 183 wickets during that time. He has also managed to pump out 1560 runs with a best score of 70 not out.

This can lead to a significant change in the ranks of the Chennai Super Kings as they are also doubtful about the availability of Ravindra Jadeja and Deepak Chahar. Jadeja is rumoured to have suffered a rift with the franchise while the return date for Chahar is still unknown.

It would be interesting to see how Chennai plugs the gap with two of their star all-rounders not being in the equation and the forthcoming year also being Dhoni’s last. Twitter was pretty much mixed about the release of the Caribbean legend who was an integral part of the Chennai Super Kings.
