WATCH: David Warner gets into a fight with his Australian teammate Matthew Wade by pushing him during a BBL match

Sydney Thunders took on Hobart Hurricanes in BBL 2022/23 at the Blundstone arena earlier today. Despite being a low-scoring match, it was very eventful and full of ups and downs.

Sydney Thunders won the toss and opted to bat first. They did not get a suitable start to their innings at all as David Warner departed for a duck, thanks to a sensational Yorker by Riley Meredith. Opener Matthew Gikes and middle-order batsman Sam Whiteman were no good either and the responsibilities then fell upon the shoulders of Oliver Davies who rose up to the occasion, scoring 45 off 38. Had it not been for him, it would be really difficult for the Thunders to even reach a 100+ total. In the end, they were able to score 135 runs in the first innings which was way too less.

However, Hobart Hurricanes got an even more shaky start to their own innings as they came on to chase. In fact, they were 20/3 at one point. However, Olie Davies dropped a catch of Matthew Wade at one point and that changed the fate of the game. Wade and Tim David went on to play a 79 runs partnership and things were under control for the Hurricanes after that. In fact, Tim David went on to score an unbeaten 76 runs and he made sure that they won this match.

During the match, a heated incident took place between Hurricanes’ Matthew Wade and Thunders’ David Warner who are teammates at the National team. It all started in the 10th over when Wade pulled out of his stance just when Chris Green was about to bowl. During the drinks break, Wade came on to Warner who pushed him away. However, after the match was over, the players revealed that things were alright between them.
