New Zealand suffered a disappointing defeat against Pakistan in the semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2022 in Sydney. It was a poor performance from their end as they struggled in all the departments, which put them on the back foot.
Opting to bat first, they lost Fin Allen early for 4 runs and came under pressure. After that, they lost Devon Conway for 28 runs to an exceptional runout. Skipper Kane Williamson (46) and Daryll Mitchell (53) then played decent knocks for their side. Their good knocks ensure that New Zealand crosses the 150-run mark.
Defending the target, they had no answers to the onslaught by Pakistani openers. Both Mohammad Rizwan (57) and Babar Azam (53) returned to form and smashed a 105-run partnership before Mohammad Haris played a fiery 30-run knock to eliminate New Zealand.
