Maharashtra captain Ruturaj Gaikwad has been in surreal form in domestic cricket. The right-handed batsman who is currently not part of the Indian cricket set-up is making his presence count in List A format.

The way he has been scoring runs on a consistent basis goes to show that he is not far away from making a stellar rebound into the Indian cricket team. The star batsman has been technically strong this season.

He has been the driving force for the Maharashtra cricket team in the ongoing tournament. The 25-year-old has made a bold statement with the bat by ticking the flow of runs in crucial games for Maharashtra.

Ruturaj Gaikwad has 15 hundreds and 16 fifties from just 71 innings in List A format

The Pune-born cricketer recently shot into prominence for his scintillating knock against Uttar Pradesh in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022. The right-handed batsman smashed an unbeaten 220 off 159 balls.

He paced his innings with the help of 10 boundaries and 16 maximums at a strike rate of 138.36. During the game, he etched his name into the record books by smashing seven sixes in an over against UP.

Shiva Singh bowled a no ball in his over, which led to seven balls in the over and Ruturaj Gaikwad showed no mercy as he smashed 6 sixes in an over, thus becoming the first player to achieve the feat.

Currently, he is plying his trade for Maharastra in the all-important final against Saurashtra. The talented cricketer scored 108 off 131 balls with the help of seven fours and four sixes to his name and was the top-scorer for the team.

With that century, he increased his batting average to over 61. Overall, he has scored 15 centuries and 16 half-centuries from 71 innings in the List-A format.

Maharashtra posted 248/9 in their quota of 50 overs. On the other hand, Chirag Jani accounted for three dismissals where he conceded 43 runs and bowled a maiden over in his quota of 10 overs.
