Fans on Twitter react after Sunil Gavaskar extends his support out of form Rohit Sharma. They were on the same page with the batting great, who backed the Indian skipper to score big in the knockouts of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022.
Rohit Sharma struggling to get going in the T20 World Cup 2022
Although India has reached the semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2022, one of the biggest concerns for them has been the form of the skipper, Rohit Sharma, with the bat. The opening batter has struggled to get going in the tournament and has looked clueless so far.
It’s fair to say that his ultra-aggressive approach has been the reason behind his poor form in the tournament. Although he scored one fifty in the event, he looked scratchy during that innings as well.
His poor run of form has been one of the main reasons behind India getting poor starts. In the five innings so far that he has played in the tournament, Rohit has managed just 89 runs in five at a poor average and strike rate of 17.80 and 109.87 respectively.
Although he’s doing a great job as the skipper of the side with the semi-final around the corner, the team would want his skipper to step up and lead from the front.
Former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar has come out in support of Rohit Sharma and said that he feels that the India skipper is saving his runs for the knockout matches. Speaking to India Today, he said:
“Let’s hope Rohit Sharma is saving the runs for knockouts, they are going to be big matches”.

Fans come out in support of Rohit Sharma; on the same page as Sunil Gavaskar
Amid his poor run of form, fans have come out in support of skipper Rohit Sharma. Calling him a big-match player, they were on the same page with batting great Sunil Gavaskar and were hopeful that the opening batter will perform in big games. Here are some of the reactions:
Form is something you get by spending time on the crease which Rohit has only done against Ned in this WC, he should forget his Jon striker and Intent from start for sometime and play how he usually plays, take time play singles and then catch up, else it will be difficult.

Rohit Sharma is a big match player❤️
Scoring hundred in ICC knockouts is still a dream for someone !

Yes, Rohit Sharma is out of form and he deserves all the criticism. He needs time to settle in but KL Rahul playing maiden overs, putting pressure and then getting fifty isn’t helping the skipper ! Hope he brings his best in semis.. #RohitSharma #INDvsZIM

Well that’s the case as @imVkohli @klrahul is done for the tournament as they’ll choke in big games with semifinals @ImRo45 will be the key !!#ICC #ICCT20WorldCup2022

Sometimes i really think like rohit Sharma doesn't throw his wicket by himself, he plays with good intent but KL rahul with more dots deliveries create pressure and he have to go for a big shot in every over and gets out .#INDvsZIM pic.twitter.com/zENMhuv0Ml

Although his runs are not needed , just his presence on field is enough. I still think that Goat has one big performance left in him.
No chance against Pakistan bowlers.
So maybe against England— Professor samuel oak (@prof_oak123) November 7, 2022
