Ravi Shastri Comes Up With Hilarious Reply To ESPN’s Tweet

MS Dhoni did confront Shastri after their famous Australia conquest

Ravi Shastri comes up with top-class humour: In the initial edition of the T20 World Cup, India took out blazing opponents in the flash of an eye with some extraordinary performances. One of them was a formidable Australian team that starred the likes of Matthew Hayden, Andrew Symonds, Adam Gilchrist, Brett Lee and Ricky Ponting.

Given the fact that the Indian cricket team was completely new to the format and they posted some wild showdowns that took out the likes of South Africa and England, it was expected that India would have given a tough fight to Australia but a victory seemed highly unlikely.

The incident that came to haunt Ravi Shastri

Amongst all the updates that were shared by the cricketing analysts, Ravi Shastri posted an article on ESPN Cricinfo, citing that Australia was the firm favourites.

However, India defied all the preceding predictions and emerged as victor against an untenable Australia. Taking the fullest use of his opportunity, ESPN Cricinfo tweeted, โ€œWhen MS Dhoni proved Ravi Shastri wrong!โ€

Ravi Shastri opened up the tweet and took a funny side to the same by tweeting, โ€œDonโ€™t believe everything you read on Cricinfo.โ€ In fact, Dhoni even said to Ravi Shastri in the post-match presentation that he was proven wrong for the semi-final.

India emerged as the eventual winners of the tournament after drubbing Pakistan in a closely contested encounter. Dhoni pulled off an exceptionally heroic decision in the final as he used Joginder Sharma in the final over against a full-blown Misbah-ul-Haq that brought him success.

Shastri’s upcoming assignments

Shastri will be the head coach of India in the upcoming T20 World Cup as India will be starting their World Cup campaign against their arch-rivals, Pakistan.

It is also said that the World Cup may be his last assignment as his coach as he even dropped a couple of subtle hints at the same.
