“Pretty Darn Good”- Dale Steyn Picks The Best All-Format Batter Of The World Right Now

Former South African cricket team fast bowler Dale Steyn was one of the most dangerous all-format bowlers of his era. Many fans considered him the best of his generation. Steyn has now retired from all formats of cricket and works as a fast-bowling coach for the Sunrisers Hyderabad IPL franchise.

It looked like today was an off day for the fast bowler because he spent a lot of time on social media answering the questions of his fans. First, he put out a tweet, urging his fans to send him in some questions for him. He tried to answer whichever he could.

One of the questions was about the best all-format batter in the world right now. Interestingly, Steyn replied to the fan with Babar Azam’s name and wrote:

“Maybe Babar? He’s pretty darn good.”

Babar Azam is the captain of the Pakistan cricket team in all formats of the sport. He has played a vital role in the success of the Men in Green over the last few years. The right-handed batter’s consistent performances have helped him earn a place in the Top 10 of the ICC Rankings for Batters. It is not a surprise to see someone like Steyn praising him.

Dale Steyn feels Baby AB Dewald Brevis could start playing shorter formats for South Africa

Baby AB Dewald Brevis has earned everyone’s attention with his exceptional batting performances. Brevis made his IPL debut earlier this year for the Mumbai Indians, and he was phenomenal in the match against the Punjab Kings. Playing for the first time against Rahul Chahar, he smashed four back-to-back sixes off his bowling.

A fan asked Steyn on Twitter today: “Do you think Dewald Brevis will get a chance straight away in the SA Team after this IPL?”. Steyn replied to him: “Shorter format yes.”
