Mumbai Indians took the whole cricketing universe with a shock after their last-ball victory against CSK. On their journey of chasing the 219 runs mark, MI had troubles in the middle after a sudden loss of wickets. However, it was the mighty Kieron Pollard who emerged out as the savior.
The West Indian played a mind-boggling inning of 87 runs from just 34 deliveries. His knock comprised of 6 fours and eight sixes which turned the game in their favor. The cricketer also went on to win the Man of the Match award for the same too.
Even though Mumbai Indians emerged out as the victorious ones, it was a night to forget for their bowlers. Their death bowling trio of Bumrah, Boult, and Kulkarni was hammered all around the park. Bumrah exited the match as the most expensive one, leaking 56 runs in 4 overs and grabbing one wicket.
How Mitchell McClenaghan replied to a fan on social media
Being impressed by Pollard’s batting, Mitchell McClenaghan posted a GIF on his Twitter handle after the match. Seeing that, a fan tried to mock the Mumbai side on Twitter. He termed the franchise as ‘Ambani Indians’ instead of ‘Mumbai Indians’. McClenaghan couldn’t keep calm as he then gave a befitting reply to that fan. He replied, ” Yup, they own the team.”
The New Zealand pacer Mitchell McClenaghan has been part of the MI squad in the past. He was associated with this franchise until last year. However, following some mediocre performances, he wasn’t bought back by the side for this year’s IPL.
With four wins in 7 games, Mumbai is currently residing at the fourth position on the points ladder with a positive net run rate of 0.062. Their next fixture is against the Sunrisers Hyderabad side on 4th May at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium.
