The Australian cricket team have been on the receiving end ever since they locked horns with Team India in the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy series. Team India have been in the driver’s seat in the first two Tests.
The hosts dictated the tempo across all aspects of the game. As a result, they were able to churn out good results in their favour. While they chipped in with a magnificent win over the Aussies in the first Test, they continued to dominate the proceedings in the second Test as well.
India won the Test opener by an innings and 132 runs in Nagpur and won the second Test by six wickets in Delhi. With the special win in Delhi, they also retained the Border Gavaskar Trophy and took a 2-0 lead in the series.
Ashton Agar has been sent home by Australia
Meanwhile, in the latest development, the Australian cricket board sent Ashton Agar back to Australia. The spinner was unused by the team management in the first two games against Team India.
It is said that Ashton Agar is not injured and is expected to make a comeback for the three-match ODI series against India. He is set to feature for Western Australia at the domestic level.
The spinner was warming the bench in the first two games of the Border Gavaskar Trophy series while another left-arm spinner by the name of Matt Kuhnemann flew to India and made his Test debut in the second Test at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
It remains to be seen how the Aussies will find a way to win the next Test match, which is slated to be held on March 1 at Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore. India are just a win away from sealing the series, in what will be their 16th consecutive Test series win on home soil.
Earlier, David Warner was ruled out of the rest of the Test series after sustaining a hairline fracture of the elbow in the Delhi Test. Australia’s paceman Josh Hazlewood who didn’t feature in the BGT series against India was also ruled out of the series owing to an injury.
Make sure there are at least 11 players left for the remaining Tests in India. https://t.co/k56wP19QbA

Australia really missed a trick by not picking him in india. He bowls flat n quick. He’s accurate. That’s what u need on surfaces like this. Monty panesar troubled India. This Ind plays spin nowhere close to 2012 team. Agar could bat n score some quick runs too.

They complain about rank Turners and send their one of the best spinners back.
Aston agar proved out to be a successful baller in Asia a few months ago during aus vs pak.— Sarthak Sharma (@SharmaSarthak08) February 22, 2023
The current australian team seems to be incapable of playing against india's top quality spin bowling attack in sub continent conditions. so, india will win in next 2 matches and therefore(4-0) is possible.

He should have played 2nd test itself Kuhnemann based on his experience. Expected him in 3rd sent but sent back home. Every approach from Australia is not looking good

A few days later-
Team Australia has been ruled out of BGT and has been sent to Australia, england named as replacement…..— Chirag Jain (@ChiragJ55716080) February 22, 2023
The way australian players are going home it would be difficult to field 11 players
