Kris Srikkanth says MS Dhoni better than ABD because he performs in crucial matches
MS Dhoni played a crucial match winning cameo for CSK in the first qualifier of IPL 2021
The former legendary Indian opening batsman Kris Srikkanth has said that MS Dhoni is better than AB de Villiers because he performs during the crucial matches for his team, while AB de Villiers doesn’t do that.
Srikkanth was asked this question about MS Dhoni and ABD during a live show on his YouTube channel, and he said if you see on paper and compare the records of the two players, you might say ABD is a very impressive finisher, but when it comes to crucial games, whether it is in the World Cup or the IPL, he is not able to perform.
Srikkanth stressed the point that South Africa has not won any trophy so far in international cricket because of this inability not to seize the clutch moments despite the fact that before every ICC tournament, people say South Africa is a wonderful team.

MS Dhoni has played some good knocks in crucial matches, but so has ABD
Srikkanth might be right about MS Dhoni being able to seize the clutch moments in his career, but to say that ABD has not been able to do that is probably a bit off the mark because ABD has also played a couple of really quality knocks in the knockout games for South Africa as well as RCB. It’s just that his team never won the trophy.
However, Srikkanth, who is from Chennai and was really ecstatic about the victory of CSK in the first qualifier of IPL 2021 over Delhi Capitals, made it pretty clear that in his opinion, it’s MS Dhoni who is a better finisher because of the fact that he comes good in crucial games.
CSK has made it to the final of IPL 2021 by beating Delhi Capitals in qualifier 1, but RCB were eliminated from the playoffs as they lost to KKR in the eliminator game which was played at Sharjah. RCB played really well during the league phase of the tournament, but they couldn’t replicate that form in the playoffs.
