“India made me the brand that I am today, I am grateful,” admits West Indies allrounder Dwayne Bravo

Dwayne Bravo has launched a clothing line with plans of opening physical stores in India

The former West Indies captain Dwayne Bravo has admitted that he wouldn’t have been able to do as many business adventures as he is doing today if it was not for the number of fans he has in India. Bravo is not just a freelance T20 cricketer these days, he is also involved in music and has launched a clothing line that will have physical stores in India soon.

Bravo, while being in a conversation with IANS recently, expressed his gratitude towards the fact that he has got so much love in a country that is in a completely different timezone than the one he comes from. The West Indies all-rounder, who is now in the twilight of his career, insisted whatever he does in terms of his business adventures in future, his Indian fans will always have access to it.

“I don’t think I would have been half the brand that I am today without India. That’s an honest truth,” Bravo said while speaking to IANS.

It’s Bravo’s credentials as an IPL cricketer, playing for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) over the years, which makes him an immensely popular celebrity in India. He is a cricketer who doesn’t just entertain the audience with his cricketing skills, he has his own way of connecting to the audience with his Caribbean celebrations and dance moves. He has come up with a couple of music videos as well with millions of views on YouTube, most of which came from India.

Dwayne Bravo has not been retained by CSK ahead of IPL 2022 mega auction

Although Dwayne Bravo has not been retained by CSK ahead of the next mega auction of IPL, it is most likely that he will attract bids in the auction, probably from CSK itself and will be seen plying his trade in the next IPL as well. With quite a few franchises looking for a new captain, Bravo might also be up for a leadership role, if he lands somewhere else apart from CSK.

Bravo recently led Delhi Bulls to the final of the T10 league in Abu Dhabi, where they were beaten by Deccan Gladiators.

I write a bit on cricket and I am more interested in technical and tactical side of the game, rather than bravado.
