Josh Inglis ruled out of the T20 World Cup 2022

Ahead of the Super 12 stage of the T20 World Cup 2022, Australia suffered a blow as wicketkeeper batter Josh Inglis is ruled out of the tournament. The right-hander sustained a freak injury while playing golf and was deemed unfit to play.

Inglis underwent scans and was subsequently ruled out of the tournament. In his place, Cricket Australia have added all-rounder Cameron Green to the squad. It’s fair to say that the right-hander was the front-runner to replace the keeper batter because of his performances of late.

Green has been opening the innings for his side in T20Is and has played a few match-winning knocks. Also being the handy bowler, he can walk straight into the XI as well. In the series against India, he scored two half-centuries and can also be the X factor for his side.

Australia will open their campaign against New Zealand on October 22. The defending champions would want to script history and become the first team to defend their T20 World Cup title.
