Pakistan are likely to appoint Mickey Arthur as the online coach till 2024

Pakistan Cricket Board are likely to recruit Mickey Arthur as the online coach and the board reckons that it will bring a change in the approach and structure of the team going forward into marquee events.

Meanwhile, Saqlain Mushtaq’s contract with the team came to a close in January. On the other side of the coin, the new Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Najam Sethi wanted Arthur, who had earlier worked with the Men in Green.

Needless to say, Mickey Arthur turned down to come on board owing to his current association with English County Cricket team Derbyshire and that’s not the end of the story.

PCB chairman Najam Sethi constantly kept trying and finally, he somehow convinced Mickey Arthur to join the national cricket team via online mode. Mickey will be looking forward to offering substantial tips to the national team once he is appointed.

In the previous calendar year, the Pakistan cricket team failed to implement their plans in Test cricket as they lost too many games. Besides that, they couldn’t even win a single game in the last year, for the first time in their history.

Besides that, they also suffered a first-ever whitewash as they lost to England by 3-0 in the three-match Test series at home.
