The start of the game was delayed due to a wet outfield. However, after the inspection, the game was given the signal to proceed. Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to bowl first.

Gujarat Titans benefitted from the services of both Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill. The opening pair added 54 runs before Wriddhiman Saha was dismissed for 18 runs.

Shubman Gill scores a scintillating century against Mumbai Indians

In the previous season of the IPL, Shubman Gill nearly came close to scoring a century but failed to reach the triple-digit mark. However, in this season, he has been batting on a different level altogether.

Shubman Gill brought up his third IPL century in the ongoing season. He is the leading run-scorer in the IPL 2023 season. Gill went past Faf du Plessis’ overall tally in the game against Mumbai Indians to become the top run-getter.

Gujarat Titans were the first team to qualify for the IPL 2023 playoffs by finishing the league stage as the table-toppers. However, they were outsmarted by Chennai Super Kings in the first qualifier. CSK beat GT by 15 runs and then made it to the tenth IPL final.
