Dinesh Karthik Picks Three Players Who Will Rock The 2021 WT20

The T20 World Cup will happen after five long years in 2021. ICC would host the event in the UAE and Oman, starting October 17th this year. All teams will be keen to do well in the competition because it has been a long time since it took place. Speaking about the prospects of teams and players for the tournament, Indian cricketer and commentator Dinesh Karthik picked three players who will rock the 2021 WT20.

Dinesh Karthik is now a popular commentator

Just a few months ago, Dinesh Karthik himself was in contention to play in the upcoming T20 World Cup. However, with Rishabh Pant‘s rise in form, DK would now not have a chance to be part of the event.

Currently commentating for Sky Sports in England, the KKR player, in a discussion with broadcaster Isa Guha and West Indian T20 World Cup-winning captain Darren Sammy, gave a verdict on three players who could do well at the upcoming event.

According to the wicket-keeper batsman, Hardik Pandya, Nicholas Pooran, and Mitchell Starc will be one of the best performers at the ICC event. Talking about Hardik, DK said, “When you want to win big tournaments, you need characters, people who are up for a fight. For India, that is Hardik Pandya for me.” He further said that Hardik’s batting strike rate and clever bowling will be important for India.

About Nicholas Pooran, Karthik mentioned, “For me, Nicholas Pooran is someone who is special. When he finishes his career, he’ll be one of the T20 greats because of the way he bats. There’s something called bat swing, and he has probably got the best bat swing in cricket.”

DK reasoned out that although Starc has not been in form, he still is one of the players to look forward to. The Tamil Nadu cricketer opined that Starc found his mojo back against West Indies and seems to have found his rhythm.
