“Come back Rahane, Team India needs you!” – Twitter reacts after Ajinkya Rahane scores a terrific century against Hyderabad in Ranji Trophy

India’s experienced batsman Ajinkya Rahane is currently out of the national reckoning owing to poor form. Earlier, the team management axed him from the Test set-up for his series of low scores.

It is also worth mentioning here that it was under Ajinkya Rahane’s captaincy, Team India scripted a 2-1 series win over Australia, after suffering a humiliating loss in the Test series opener.

Sadly, his numbers didn’t do any justice to bolster his place in the Indian cricket team and was also told to focus on domestic cricket. The Mumbai cricket team skipper is currently playing in the Ranji Trophy tournament.

Currently, Mumbai are locking horns with Assam at Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai. Hyderabad skipper Tanmay Agarwal won the toss and chose to bowl first. Mumbai dictated terms despite losing Prithvi Shaw for just 19.

Suryakumar Yadav and Yashasvi Jaiswal added a 153-run partnership for the second wicket before Suryakumar departed for 90 off 80 balls. Suryakumar scored a flurry of 15 fours and a six during his stay at the crease.

On the other hand, skipper Ajinkya Rahane and Yashasvi Jaiswal added a 206-run partnership for the third wicket before Jaiswal departed for 162 runs. The southpaw struck as many as 27 fours and a six.

Ajinkya Rahane went about his business and scored a valuable century for the team. Notably, he brought up his century off 121 balls and since then the netizens heaped praise on Rahane for his batting.

Rahane found support from Sarfaraz Khan as the duo added 75 runs for the fourth wicket before the first day came to a close. The skipper remained unbeaten on 139 off 190 balls including 18 fours and 2 sixes.

On the other hand, Sarfaraz Khan scored 40 off 55 balls where he struck six boundaries to his name. Mumbai cricket team ended Day 1 with 457/3 in 90 overs.
