“Beauty of Sport”: BCCI shares a wholesome Video as players give Virat Kohli a guard of honor

As it is widely known, Virat Kohli is playing his 100th test match against Sri Lanka at Mohali. To honor this milestone, the Team India players gave a guard of honor to their former captain.

Mohali crowd burst into emotions as Virat Kohli took the field for the second innings. Rohit Sharma & Co. were planning a special gesture for Virat.

In a video shared by BCCI on Twitter, the boys were standing in groups of five on either side. Virat Kohli then enters the field with one hand in the air, a gesture signifying his gratitude.

Apart from the guard of honor, Kohli also received a special cap as a memento from the hands of Head Coach Rahul Dravid.

Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bat on day 1. Virat scored a knock of 45 runs. He was then dismissed by Left-Arm Orthodox spinner Lasith Embuldeniya. India posted a whopping total of 574, courtesy of high scores.

All-Rounder Ravindra Jadeja got his best score in the red-ball format, scoring an unbeaten 175. Meanwhile, wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant fell prey to the nervous nineties, once again. He scored almost a run-a-ball 96. Ravi Ashwin also contributed 61 runs to the scoreboard.

Notably, nine of the ten players that batted scored in double digits. Going into the second innings, the onus will be on the bowling unit to take as many wickets as possible before the day ends.

Sri Lanka have posted a total of 108 runs for the loss of four wickets, at the end of the day’s play.

Jadeja stars in Virat Kohli’s 100th Test Match

Arguably, Mohali saw the best-ever version of Ravindra Jadeja: The Batsman. He was in the center of things, he scored his second-ever test century. Jaddu helped India post a respectable total on the board. Rishabh and Jadeja set the aggressive tone for the rest of the innings. The duo scored a total of 26 fours and seven sixes between them.
