England international Jofra Archer was last seen in cricketing action during the IPL fixture against Chennai Super Kings at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. Since then, he remained out of the team’s plans.
Later on, it was confirmed that he has been ruled out of the remainder of the IPL 2023 with an injury. The Barbados-born paceman played only five games for Mumbai Indians this season.
He managed to take only two wickets and failed to up his ante as a bowler. Jofra Archer has been away from competitive action for quite a long time due to an injury.
In fact, Mumbai Indians purchased him for INR 8 crore at the IPL 2022 mega auction in Bengaluru. The right-arm fast bowler didn’t feature for the five-time IPL champions last season due to an injury.
Jofra Archer is ruled out for the rest of the English summer with an elbow fracture
Meanwhile, in the latest development, Jofra Archer has been ruled out of the rest of the English summer with an elbow fracture, as confirmed by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).
The top-tier paceman has been ruled out for the whole English summer owing to the recurrence of a stress fracture in his elbow. The 28-year old will not be available for England’s one-off Test against Ireland cricket team, slated to begin from June 1 onwards.
He experienced a string of injuries, in his troubled elbow of the bowling arm. As a result, he did not play any professional cricket in the previous calendar year. However, after several months of going through rehabilitation and recovery process, he did make a rebound in the inaugural edition of South Africa’s premier T20 competition, SA20 league.
He represented MI Cape Town in the inaugural edition before he went on to play for England in three T20Is in Bangladesh and two ODIs against Bangladesh and South Africa respectively.
Asking a Mumbai Indians player to be fit for international duty is a tough ask.

@ESPNcricinfo Well, that's a real bummer for Jofra. Maybe they should consider wrapping him in bubble wrap next time. 🤷♂️
