“And you released him”, Twitter reacts after CSK praises N Jagadeesan for his 277 against Arunachal Pradesh

The ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022 has well and truly witnessed players switching gears in the 50-over format. At first, we saw Prithvi Shaw scoring a fifty off 35 balls. 

After that, we witnessed Hyderabad-born Tilak Varma’s all-round masterclass of late. The Mumbai Indians’ player scored a century while also taking two wickets to his name against Manipur recently.

Meanwhile, N Jagadeesan, the Tamil Nadu cricketer etched his name into the record books after he went past Rohit Sharma’s tally of highest score in List A cricket.

CSK praises N Jagadeesan for his 277 against Arunachal Pradesh

Coming out to open the innings for Tamil Nadu against Arunachal Pradesh, Jagadeesan let his bat do the talking as he scored a whirlwind 277 off 141 balls. He smashed 25 fours and 15 sixes to his name.

The right-handed wicketkeeper-batsman maintained a staggering strike-rate of 196.45. The likes of Jagadeesan and Sai Sudharsan added a record 416-run opening partnership that saw the openers blowing Arunachal Pradesh’s bowling apart.

Sai Sudharsan scored 154 off 102 balls with the help of 19 fours and 2 sixes at a strike-rate of 150.98. Earlier, CSK submitted a list of retained and released players ahead of the IPL 2023 mini auction. 

CSK released N Jagadeesan from their squad. Now, the yellow army took to their official Twitter handle and praised the wicketkeeper-batsman for his imperious form in the ongoing domestic cricket tournament. 

The caption of the post reads, “Jaggi’s (Pancha)TONdhiram! #VijayHazareTrophy #WhistlePodu”. Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu became the first team to post a total of 506/2 in 50 overs in List A cricket.
