Talking about this season, Tilak Varma has been making good noises with the bat. He drew plaudits for his clean-hitting skills, which is indeed worth applauding, considering that he is only 20 years old and the maturity that he has shown in the first three innings has been spectacular.
The young southpaw has a perfect opportunity to make his presence count in the ongoing edition of the IPL. Moreover, he is also the leading run-scorer for the MI franchise in IPL 2023.
Having been featured in all three games so far this season, he aggregated 147 runs to his name. Notably, he announced his arrival with a scintillating unbeaten 84 off 46 balls including nine fours and four sixes to his name.
When all others failed to score runs, Tilak Varma led the batting attack by example where he scored runs at the rate of knots, with a strike rate of 182.61.

The youngster once again upped his ante during the recently-concluded game against Delhi Capitals at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. He scored a quickfire 41 off just 29 balls where he constructed his innings with the help of 1 four and four sixes.

While speaking to his skipper in an interview, Tilak Varma said it was his childhood dream to bat with Rohit Sharma.
Furthermore, he added that he was indeed happy that he got the chance to bat alongside him. He also added that he literally feels really good that his dream came true.
