Virat Kohli is the highest run-scorer in the history of the Indian Premier League. Playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore, the right-handed batter has aggregated more than 6,000 runs with his willow. Kohli has scored five centuries for RCB in his IPL career so far.
He was in dream form during the 2016 edition of the Indian Premier League. Captaining RCB, Kohli scored four tons in IPL 2016 and guided the Bangalore-based franchise to their third IPL final. While Kohli was magnificent that year, Sunrisers Hyderabad emerged as the IPL champions.
After that, Kohli scored a ton for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in a match against the Kolkata Knight Riders, in what has been his only three-digit score in the league since the 2016 season. Kohli has not scored a ton in any format of the game since November 2019.
The star Indian cricketer hinted at ending his drought of hundreds soon with a recent Twitter post. While he did not clearly mention about the century drought, he posted a photo of himself celebrating an IPL ton and captioned it as follows: “Not too long to go now.”

Virat Kohli will play for RCB under the captaincy of Faf du Plessis in IPL 2022
Virat Kohli will not captain the Royal Challengers Bangalore this season. He will under the captaincy of Faf du Plessis for the first time in his career. Kohli does not have any burden now, and here’s what he said about his mindset ahead of IPL 2022:
“My focus is so clear now, it is so precise, and I just want to have a lot of fun, enjoy myself on the field and fully to this franchise like I have done over the years, and without any load, so I am absolutely ready.”
It will be interesting to see how Kohli performs in a different role for RCB in IPL 2022.
