“8-10 of 5” – Ben Stokes reacts after Sydney Thunder run through a batting collapse against Adelaide Strikers in BBL

The Sydney Thunder franchise turned out to be a laughing stock on social media portals after they were bundled out for a lowest-ever total in the history of the truncated version of the game.

Not even a single batter played with intent and since there was no stability in the batting attack, the wickets kept tumbling like a pack of cards. Their terrible batting performances triggered the netizens to come up with memes.

Adelaide Strikers simply ripped through the defence of Sydney Thunder’s batting line-up like a hot knife through butter. The likes of Henry Thornton and Wes Agar had a great day at the office as they helped Adelaide Strikers restrict Sydney Thunder to just 15 runs.

While the Sydney Thunder bowlers did a pretty decent job of restricting Adelaide Strikers to 139/9, the onus was on the batters to complete the job with ease. However, much to everyone’s surprise, Sydney Thunder ran through a batting collapse.

England international Ben Stokes posted a tweet after the Sydney Thunder franchise ran through a batting collapse against Adelaide Strikers in the fifth game of the ongoing edition of the Big Bash League.

England’s Test captain took to Twitter and wrote, “8-10 of 5” and added seven shocked faces and exploding head emoji. Ben Stokes’ tweet spread like wildfire on social media portals and fans also came up with their views or opinions on the internet.

Sydney Thunder’s batting line-up saw batters getting dismissed for cheap scores, with five players getting dismissed for ducks whereas the other players departed for single-digit scores.

Henry Thornton bowled 2.5 overs wherein he gave away only three runs, accounting for five dismissals at an impressive economy of 1.10. On the other hand, Wes Agar took 4 wickets to his name, giving away only six runs at an economy of 3. Adelaide Strikers won the game by a massive margin of 124 runs.
