THIS SEASON, many IPL teams have failed to get a cent percent chunk of consequence from their respective skippers, whom they have appointed in the anticipation of hefty results. But they will look to improve it in IPL 2023. Large number of them have also struggled with their good batting form because usually the batting ability of an individual drastically punches his leading approach. The most common names among them are Shreyas Iyer, Ravindra Jadeja and Rishabh Pant. The biggest moment in the heat between the team leadership and unsatisfied management was when Ravindra Jadeja was thrown away as a CSK skipper.
Also a rift of wave has been seen between Rishabh Pant and the coach Ricky Ponting when the team was disqualified from the tournament due to immature captaincy of DC skipper. The captaincy becomes the most important element for a franchise if they have to increase their team’s status and also their business. Thus below are a few names who could be replaced in IPL 2023 as a skipper of their current side.
1.Ravindra Jadeja (CSK).
Ravindra Jadeja is one of the most flamboyant all rounders the Indian Cricket has, but his days are all around in between the controversies in the whole IPL season of 2022. After appointing the Skipper of Chennai Super Kings initially, he was replaced by MS Dhoni after a bad touch of losing. He got out of the tournament by himself but showed the urge of playing from the side of CSK in IPL 2023. But he will be permanently replaced by MSD by CSK think tank in the next edition.
2. Mayank Agrawal (PBKS).
Mayank Agarwal has also unsuccessfully led the team of Punjab Kings in IPL 2022. He was appointed as a Skipper of Punjab after the departure of KL Rahul in LSG. But due to his bad touch of leadership PBKS has finished in 7th position with only 6 wins in their account. In IPL 2023 Punjab Kings may look for another face for the leadership of their side. Fingers crossed for the bright future of Mayank Agarwal in the upcoming days for Punjab.
3. Shreyas Iyer (KKR).
Shreyas Iyer has also enlisted into the list of susceptible captains for the IPL 2023 season. He may be the second Skipper after Dinesh Kartik who Kolkata Knight Riders has been replaced due to the bad voyage of the particular edition. He wasn’t also good with his bat which impacts greatly on his leadership for the team. No doubt Iyer is a great batsman and the man in great form in the International Circuit but he has failed to take on the ship of KKR in this season of IPL.
4. Rishabh Pant (DC).
Rishabh pant is the most prime culprit in the defeat of Delhi capitals in their last game which they could easily win and qualify for the playoffs. While chasing a wide ball Rishabh has thrown his wicket and also reduces his chances for the leadership of the team in next season of the IPL. He successfully led his team into the playoffs of IPL 2021 but in 2022 he failed to do that. Thus he could be replaced by any other flamboyant cricketer in the season of IPL 2023.
