3 players who have hit the biggest sixes in IPL 2021

Big-hitting is always an important part of T20 cricket and particularly in IPL, if you have to win the title as a team, you must have a couple of players in the squad who can hit sixes with ease against both fast bowlers and spinners.

Generally, we see around the world that the power hitters get the longest distance on the sixes that they hit because of the brute force they impart on the ball. But in IPL 2021, there are some players who are very slight in build, don’t have the muscles that the power players have, and they have still managed to hit the ball a long way.

Here are the three players who have hit the biggest sixes in IPL 2021 –

1) Ruturaj Gaikwad

When you see Ruturaj Gaikwad, you would generally think he is a class player who would play cricket shots and not really someone who would hit 100-meter sixes, but Ruturaj has actually hit the biggest six of IPL 2021 and he has done that by just timing the ball and not by imparting force.

While scoring his hundred against Rajasthan Royals in Abu Dhabi, Ruturaj hit two 100 meter sixes, one went 103 meters and another one 108 meters. That 108 meter six is the biggest six so far in IPL 2021. Ruturaj is currently also the second-highest run-scorer in the tournament, with over 500 runs. He is the only batsman to have scored a hundred in the UAE leg of IPL 2021 so far.

2) Kieron Pollard

Kieron Pollard hitting big sixes is not a surprise for anyone at all because he does that almost every season. In every season of IPL, Pollard hits a couple of sixes which find its way into the top 5 biggest sixes of the season and this season is no different. Pollard’s 105 meter hit, and 103 meter hit currently sit at the second and the fourth position respectively in the list of the biggest sixes in IPL 2021.

3) KL Rahul

KL Rahul is currently one of the best T20 players in the world, and he proves that almost every IPL season by scoring heaps of runs and hitting a lot of sixes as well. This season also, KL Rahul is topping the list in terms of hitting the most number of sixes with a total of 22 hits over the ropes. Rahul, who is currently the orange cap holder in the competition as well, has hit a 101 meter six which is at no. 5 in the list of the biggest sixes in IPL 2021.
