The world has seen so many formats of cricket now. The three of the most common ones are Test, ODIs, and the T20 form. However, there are various other formats, too, which exist. One more addition is being made into this with the introduction of a new form.

The England Cricket Board has come up with the idea of conducting The Hundred. This format will comprise eight men’s and women’s sides, which will be a 100 ball game. Earlier the tournament was scheduled to happen last year. But the sudden rise in pandemic led to the event being postponed.

The event will Kickstart from 21st July 2021 in the English conditions. A total of 32 Matches will be played during the summer break. Players from various countries will make their presence felt for the event.

Indian Women’s cricket team players will be traveling to England for the same. Few names of Smriti Mandhana, Harmanpreet Kaur, Shafali Verma, and Deepti Sharma have already come out. However, a new addition has been made to this list.

The Indian batter Jemimah Rodrigues will also be participating in the same. She will be playing for the Northern Superchargers side in the debut season of this mega event.

Jemimah Rodrigues describes her feelings before the tournament

Jemimah Rodrigues told the BBC’s ‘Stumped’ podcast, “I am really looking forward to it (The Hundred). Something new, something different. I have played for the Yorkshire Diamonds and my team is the Northern Superchargers. So, I have played a few of them before, Lauren Winfield is our captain”.

The Cricketer is currently under quarantine with her fellow teammates in Mumbai. She will be traveling to England for the Test, ODIs, and T20s against the home side. It would be a great moment for the Indian cricketers to feature in this league. It would be exciting to see how the league progresses ahead.
