3 Foreign Players Punjab Kings Might Target For IPL 2023

Punjab Kings started the IPL 2022 season as one of the favorites to qualify for the playoffs. They tried to replicate the aggressive approach generally shown by the England cricket team in white-ball cricket. However, PBKS were not so consistent and ultimately finished out the Top 4 of the points table.

Nevertheless, Punjab Kings tasted a win multiple times because of their aggressive approach, which is why PBKS may not change their approach anytime soon. Instead, they may look to work on their weak areas and form a stronger squad for IPL 2023. Here’s a look at the three foreign players Punjab could sign for the next season of the Indian Premier League.

1. Punjab Kings will be keen to sign Ben Stokes

Odean Smith and Shahrukh Khan could not impress much as finishers for the Punjab Kings this season. The Mohali-based franchise will be keen to sign Ben Stokes if he is available to play in the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League. Stokes can be a solid addition to the batting department, a reliable bowling option, an excellent fielder, and even a captaincy option for the Kings.

2. Punjab Kings may sign Sam Curran for IPL 2023

Sam Curran was once a part of the Mohali-based franchise, but they released him ahead of IPL 2020. Curran can bat anywhere in the lineup and also bowl four overs of left-arm pace. He could provide some balance to the Mohali-based franchise if re-signed by them for the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League.

3. Dawid Malan

Dawid Malan plays the role of a player who stabilizes the innings in the English team. Malan could play the same role for the Punjab Kings. He played for the Kings in 2021 and could return to the franchise next year. Many fans would remember that Malan was once the world’s number one T20I batter.
